CioccolaTO’

When we think of quality chocolate often we think of Swiss or Dutch versions... however Italy has a strong tradition in the production of chocolate and Turin (Torino), my lovely city, was the birthplace of Italian chocolate production.
The art of chocolate making is celebrated each year with CioccolaTO', a two week event held in the month of March (6-15/03/09) that is devoted entirely to chocolate: more than 50 exhibitors set up their stalls in the city centre, enabling you to discover, sample and purchase many different types of chocolate in many different forms. At the same time there are also meetings and Taste Workshops, courtesy of Slow Food, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the food of the gods. CioccolaTO’ is also a festival, with music and performances that celebrate the cultural aspects of chocolate plus an all night event known as Notte Fondente.
And if you are still unable to resist, purchase ChocoPass and try the chocolate specialities of Turin (Torino) and Piemonte... with ChocoPass you can taste the finest chocolate products in historical cafes, confectionery shops and chocolate factories: gianduiotti, pralines and various cakes... a real treat for your taste buds! The booklets of ChocoPass vouchers offer you either 22 delicious samples in 3 days for only € 12,00.

Premio Arte Y Pico Award

I am honored... yesterday I have been given the ARTE Y PICO Award.
This award was given to me by Smadar's Treasure, who is a very talented beader from Israel and a very kind person. Thank you so much, Smadar!

So, I am now passing the award to another 5 blogs:

1. Fleurfatale a Belgian artist from Laarne, graphic designer, 1 sweet son and 3 lovely daughters, she makes great stunning creations, all limited edition, using a mix of materials like felt, fabric, paper, beads, findings, copper and silver... like a creative garden, full of flowers and other colorful wonders!
2. ArtMind another skilled Belgian artist from Hasselt, who produces, among other things, original felted jewelry and unique greeting cards for various occasions.
3. Glasfaden an Indonesian artist living in Germany for many years now... she is a computer programmer who abandoned her old job to devote completely herself to her new passion... glass and hand felted beads and jewellery production.
4. Anna Greaves an english artist who lives in The Netherlands at Amsterdam... take a look at her The House of Mouse... you should admire all the little felt mouse characters that she have created... you will find a large variety of styles, all with their own little personalities... all are individually hand made, unique and looking forward to being adopted into your home.
5. Giusypatch an italian girl from Trieste who loves to play with fabric, create totes, handbags, purses, a lot of sewing things (CD holder cases, cell phone/ipod purses, tissue holder cases, moleskine covers, ...).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules for passing the award on are (you can copy&paste):

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter of language.
2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award-winning has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the ward itself.
4) Award-winning and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "
Arte y pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) Show these rules.

An artist a day keeps the doctor away! #048
"It seems my creative world is full of flowers: the vintage wallpapers in my collages, the enamel flowers in my earrings, the fabric flowers in my necklaces,... Even my brooches and bookmarks are flowering... So I end up choosing the name: FLEURFATALE for my shop and blog. So I am rather the romantic type and really not a 'femmefatale' "
