"Ho passato tutta la vita a cimentarmi con le attività manuali e creative, senza soffermarmi mai troppo a lungo sulla stessa. Non appena approfondivo una determinata disciplina fino al punto di sapermici cimentare, immediatamente il mio interesse era attratto verso nuove cose. La lavorazione del legno, il cucito, la realizzazione di stivali, la preparazione di dolci, la creazione di gioielli con le perline, solo per citarne alcune. Ad un certo punto mi sono imbattuta nell'arte del feltro. Si tratta di un mezzo espressivo così versatile che non finirò di esplorarne tutte le differenti possibilità creative per molto tempo ancora. Ho appena intaccato la superficie di tutto quello che è possibile fare con il feltro. Ci sono differenti tipi di lane, differenti tipi di prodotti, colori e combinazioni di tutti questi ancora da esplorare."

Io, da che mi posso ricordare, ho sempre cucito e, dal momento che non sono brava a seguire le istruzioni (prima faccio e poi leggo), non so mai di preciso cosa otterrò alla fine del lavoro. "I live in a little cottage on a little lake in Michigan with my husband and my two adorable dogs. Muffie is a Shitzu and Poker is a Cocker Spaniel. We have three grown kids and nine beautiful grandkids, five boys and four girls. I have been sewing for as long as I can remember and because I have never been good at taking instructions, (I always do first and read later), I never know exactly what I will come up with. I love doing needlework and experimenting with different embroidery stitches. w.ho made it (chi ha fatto questo)?... no... non si tratta di un quiz!!!... w.ho made it è lo pseudonimo di Wendy Ho (w.ho made it)... un'artista americana di San Francisco che realizza, tra le altre cose, questi originalissimi contenitori per gioielli... appena li ho visti ne sono rimasta affascinata!
Wendy racconta di se stessa:
"Fino a poco tempo fa io non ho mai pensato di poter fare delle mie creazioni una professione. Sono stata a scuola, ho studiato per diventare insegnante, ho lasciato il mio paese per andare in Giappone a fare l'insegnante, sono ritornata ed ho capito che amo insegnare ai bambini, ma ciò che amo veramente sono le arti e le attività manuali, così ho tentato di esplorarne meglio i segreti e di metterle in pratica prima che fosse troppo tardi e prima di rimanere intrappolata in un lavoro che realmente non amo. "I never thought of doing hand made as a profession until recently. Ho conosciuto quest'artista americana (Monclova, Ohio) in occasione di S.Valentino... desideravo un regalo speciale e, con una piccola ricerca su Etsy, ho scoperto i gioielli in argento con scritte personalizzate realizzati da Christen Largent... un'artista autodidatta che utilizza diversi materiali... negli ultimi 5 anni ha rivolto la propria attenzione all'arte del filo metallico (che ha insegnato per 3 anni) e della lavorazione dei metalli... ha avviato la propria attività, Bead-Dazzled Designs, tre anni fa ed ora è coinvolta in molte mostre d'arte, mostre finalizzate alla raccolta di fondi di beneficenza e lavori personalizzati su richiesta.

I yearned for a special gift and, with a short research at Etsy, I discovered these sterling silver jewelry with customized inscriptions made by Christen Largent... a self-taught artist using many mediums... in the past 5 years she turned her attention to Wire Art (which she taught for 3 years) and metalsmithing... she established her business, Bead-Dazzled Designs, three years ago and now pursue a full schedule of art shows, fundraisers and custom works.

Karla Vandebeek, belgian artist from Hasselt, has been making jewelry for 10 years now as a second profession... she used to sell to stores but now she prefers to sell on line at Etsy and Dawanda almost exclusively. That way she has more time to experiment with different things like knitting, sewing, making unique pieces of jewelry, working with felt and to make unique things.

"Attualmente questi pezzi sono esposti al The Loft Art Studios and Gallery ad Old Town Scottsdale... l'ispirazione per la mia linea di gioielli normalmente deriva dalla gente e dagli eventi quotidiani. Ogni pezzo ha una personale emozione quotidiana incorporata all'interno del suo design. I adore rings... the more outlandish and unique they are the more I love them... usually I wear 5 or 6 rings at list... therefore I couldn't not to love these extraordinary creations made by S D S with pure silver (99,99%) which is a little softer than sterling silver... Natalya Sots è un'artista americana di Schaumburg che realizza particolarissime ceramiche ricche di colore, piacevoli da guardare e molto divertenti.
Tutti i lavori di Natalya sono in biscotto, sia di terracotta che in ceramica bianca... l'argilla viene cotta a circa 1038 °C (1900 °F), successivamente il pezzo viene smaltato e cotto nuovamente.

Natalya Sots is an american artist from Schaumburg who makes very unique ceramics, full of colors, enjoyable to look at and much funny.
All Natalya's work is in earthenware clay, both terra cotta and white talc eathenware... the clay gets bisque fired to around 1038 °C (1900 °F), then glaze is applied and the pieces are fired again.

Gattini, conigli, paperelle, porcospini... tutti questi soffici animaletti ricamati sono realizzati da Eva, un'artista di nazionalità estone che attualmente vive in Germania. Eva ha sempre amato le attività artigianali: cucire, lavorare a maglia, disegnare, creare con l'uncinetto... al momento però il ricamo è la sua passione principale... dopo aver realizzato il primo coniglietto ricamato per il suo bimbo, ha continuato a creare altri teneri giocattoli di cotone. Tutte le creazioni di Eva, in vendita nel suo Etsy shop Apple & Eve, sono ricamate interamente a mano su tessuto in cotone bianco, con disegni semplici ma molto dettagliati.

Kitties, bunnies, birds, hedgehogs... all these soft embroidered pets are made by Eva, an Estonian artist by nationality who currently lives in Germany. Eva has always liked handicraft: sewing, knitting, drawing, crocheting... for now, however, embroidery is her primary passion... after making her first bunny for her baby, she keeps on designing other tender cotton toys. All of Eva's creations, for sale at her Etsy shop Apple & Eve, are completely embroidered by hand on white soft cotton, with very detailed but simple designs.

Tina Mammoser un'artista britannica che è in realtà americana, originaria di Chicago, ma vive in Inghilterra ormai da circa 14 anni... un'artista a tempo pieno con studio a Greenwich, Londra. I suoi dipinti traggono ispirazione dai continui viaggi di esplorazione della costa inglese, iniziati a Natale del 2005... in quasi tutti i dipinti le diverse aree rappresentano, in proporzioni differenti, la spiaggia, l'acqua ed il cielo.
Nel suo Etsy shop The Cycling Artist vende alcuni dei bozzetti e degli studi, realizzati sia in spiaggia che nel suo studio, in preparazione delle tele di più ampie dimensioni. Tina Mammoser a Brit artist who's really American, originally from Chicago, living in the UK for nearly 14 years... a full-time artist based in Greenwich, London. Her paintings are based on her ongoing cycle journey around the coast of the UK which she began at Christmas 2005... in almost all of her paintings, in different proporations, the areas represent shore, water and sky.
On her Etsy shop The Cycling Artist she sells some of the sketches and small study paintings she produces both at the seaside and in the studio in preparation for the larger canvases. Tina's work has been shown in many galleries throughout England and is in private collections both in England and in the USA, Europe, Australia, Japan and Ireland.
